Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM.at the field.  Come early to fly.  The meetings are held at the field, weather permitting. Winter and inclement weather meeting are usually held at Joy & Ed’s Utica, IL but may be a different location as needed.

The addition of the rock climb and the afternoon shelter is tabled for now and will be discussed at our future meetings in the spring. We will need to conduct a survey of our surrounding area to confirm that there is an interest in developing this type of activity. Since we a lucky enough to have Dynamic Balsa Hobby Shop in our area, we may be able to start the survey there.

Additional signage and approval will be needed for our designated areas, such as Flyers Only, No Dogs Allowed, and others, open for suggestion.

Brian Burcar reimbursed DPRC $80.00 AMA dues for the Lostant gym location.

Old Business: Thank you to Ron Atchley and Jake Krancic and Dennis Seibert for keeping the field clean and grass cut and to those who helped install the field Pedestrian Warning Signs to keep the Sunflower visitors safe. Thanks to Lowell for putting together our promotional tree which is doing well.

New Business: A request for the interest in having the DPRC picnic and participating in the Try-Club picnic was brought up. A vote was taken to not participate this year due to the virus.

Flying has been suspended at our field. The Park is closed and at the moment there is not a clear time frame for clearing the storm damage and reopening the park.

Captain Jake Krancic advised IVRC  invited our members to use their field until ours can be reopened.

Our next meeting will be September 9, 2020 and notice will be sent as to when and where it will be held.

Old Business: Our promotional tree has a little less than 30 entries left and we will need to complete the promotion by the end of the year.

New Business: Lowell Beenenga is processing an application for a grant on the cost of our mower. Various field improvement ideas were mention for future discussions in the coming year. Such as runways, drainage, rolling and promotions.

Treasurer Report: Account balance is in good standing. Checks written to Lowell Beenenga are $76.00 for promotional material and $100.00 for the RC Club Apprentice.

The club received $130.00 in promotions, $50.00 in dues, $20.00 donation by Bernie Kahne for fuel expense. A motion to except the report pay the bills made by Don Tabor and 2nd by Bernie Kahne.

Old Business: Thanks to Lowell for our promotional tree and Thank you to our club members who are keeping the field cut and looking especially neat and clean. Also, recognition was over looked for Ron Atchley and Ted Haig who also helped with our concession at the DePue float fly.

New Business: Captain Jake Krancic now has an an IVRC member list. He will text an invitation to all IVRC members to come join us at our Monday coffee clutch.
A suggestion was made to open our field to other club members that would like to fly with us.

Captain Krancic made a motion to keep our dues at $40 instead of raising them to $50. A vote was taken to keep the dues at $40 and the majority approved the motion.

Our next Club Meeting will be October 9, 2019 at Joy and Ed’s. At that meeting we will be nominating next years officers. Please attend this meeting.

Old Business: Lowell Beenenga advised the the DePue concession sold almost all that was purchased. Our Club would like to thank those members who volunteered to help make it a success; Dave Duffey, Lowell Beenenga, Randy Bond, Don Tabor, Dennis Seibert.

New Business: Captain Krancic suggested a fund raiser in place of the fly-in breakfast to obtain funds to support the club. Lowell Beenenga reviewed a fund raiser to sell a lottery ticket tree. He agreed to over see the program and put it together for the club. A motion to do this was made by Captain Krancic and 2nd by Don Tabor.

Two bids were received by Lowell Beenenga for trim to complete the gable on the shelter. A bid from Home Depot at $22.00/10 foot section was accepted and we will need at least 3 sections. A vote was taken and approved to complete the gable. Lowell advised he would pickup the trim.

Streator field will be open to DPRC members next month during Quail season when our field will possibly be closed.

Old Business: The DPRC Corporation is finalized and is incorporated. Thank you to Lowell Beenenga for installing the nice looking metal panels on our shelter gable. Thank you to Dave Duffey Lowell Beenenga, Ron Atchely and Captain Krancic for keeping the field in great shape especially during our monsoon season. On a sad note Brian Burcar informed us that Dale Chevinie 91, who was one of the original founders of the Streator RC, has passed away.
New Business: Lowell Beenenga reviewed the decision to cancel this years Fly-in breakfast. He advised that in place of the breakfast that our club would accept donations to support the maintenance of the field and paying the bills.
Lowell also reviewed our clubs participation with the IVRC float fly. DPRC will pay for and sell food at the event. Club members who have volunteered to help do this are Dave Duffey, Lowell Beenenga, Randy Bond, Don Tabor.
Captain Krancic meet with our park manager Kerry Novak to review and request more control over how our field is used. He suggested a meeting with three of our original club members, who built our shelter field and parking guard rails walks and fences, and park management to discuss the areas that need more control. He will try to accomplish this as soon as possible.

May 8, 2019 Minutes Read, Two corrections. First, Lowell Beenenga fee donation for incorporation of DPRC will be divided into three years, $50.00 for the first year and $25.00 per year for the next two years. Second, the winner of last months 50/50 was Jim Underwood.
Treasurer Report: Bills submitted for fuel to cut grass by Captain Krancic $13.38 and Lowell Beenenga $14.70 and RAMAZ Insurance for the mower $184.00. A motion to pay the bills by Don Tabor and second by Randy Bond.
Old Business: The steel shelter gable panels are being prepared to install on the shelter, per Lowell Beenenga. Help will be need to install the panels. DPRC members presented the “Introduction to Flight” to 6, grade school students and some of their parents, at the Oglesby Summer Recreation Class in the Dickensen House. Big thanks to Captain Krancic for giving an excellent attention getting presentation to the group of children and to his assistants Dennis Siebert, Ron Atchely, Lowell Beenenga, Tony Pleskovitch. The Oglesby Parks Director Bob Ghighi requested , because of the success, that another presentation be scheduled. It was suggested that one could be done in the winter and the flying could be done in their gym. More follow-up on this will be done. The club also wants to thank Dave Duffey for cutting the grass recently.
New Business: Dave Duffey is looking into getting another windsock pole to install on the flight line. He will also, check pricing on a suggestion made by Randy Bond to install individual poles, for the flight line, which would be removable for easy mowing. Currently the PVC flight line fence is in need of repair. Thanks to Brian Burcar who won the 50/50 and donated his winnings back to club.
The DPRC BREAKFAST is reschedule for Sunday July 7, 2019. The Club will need volunteers to prepare and work at the breakfast. Usually a 6 O’clock start is required.

Old Business: Parking lot Guard rail relocation is completed and will allow more unobstructed runway space. The Park will partially assist with fuel every two weeks for cutting grass. The shelter extension has been tabled for this year and may be addressed next year. Lowell Beenenga is working with his nephew on the steel panels for the shelter gable.
The first annual Try-Club Fun-Fly Get-Together for 2019, will be Sunday June 30, 2019 at the IVRC Field beginning at 11:00 am. Participants will need to bring their own meat and a dish to pass. IVRC will provide the grills, plates and dinner ware. Flying will be an option as this will be a family affair to become acquainted with our neighboring club members.
New Business: Dave Duffey will look into a new pole near the shelter to help with the wind direction. Mark Fitzgerald noted that IVRC is opening their field every Tuesday evening to Flyers and beginners who want to participate and learn about the hobby. June 10,11,12 Oglesby Summer Recreation Class “Introduction To Flight” Presented by Deer Park R/C Flyers.  A three day class will be held at the Oglesby Dickensen House 9:00 am Until 10:30 am. The first two days are classroom and third day at the DPRC Field. An email will be sent to the volunteers prior to the presentation with a time and place to prepare for the class.

Treasurer Report: AMA RC Club dues $200.00 and the Lawnmower service parts $145.00 was paid. A Bill for DPRC Website annual storage fee was submitted by Dwight Furleigh $58.40 and paid. A motion to accept report and pay the bills by Don Tabor and second by Randy Bond.
Old Business: The first annual Try-Club Fun-Fly Get-Together for 2019, will be Sunday June 30, 2019 at the IVRC Field beginning at 11:00 am. DePue float fly plans are still being discussed and will be provided when finalized.
A suggestion to check with the park to see if they would provide gasoline assistance for mowing the grass. Captain Krancic will contact them to find out if they can help.
Some uncertainty exists on the Oglesby Fun Days after the election changes, but we were assured they would still promote the DPRC Fly-In Breakfast and tie it to their celebration.
All application paper work for our incorporation has been completed and will be submitted by Captain Krancic.
New Business: The mower is serviced and ready for mowing. A special thanks to Lowell Beenenga and Captain Krancic for servicing the mower. It is ready for use and anyone with time and ability would be appreciated if they cut the grass. The field needs to be rolled and a secondary wind sock put up.
Monday, 4/15/19, after breakfast at Joy and Ed’s 8:00 am, we will be going to the field to get some of the prep done for flying.
Lowell Beenenga suggested we install steel siding on the gable of the shelter. His nephew will donate the siding to the club.

Oglesby Summer Recreation Class “Introduction To Flight” Presented by Deer Park R/C Flyers. The program was discussed with Parks Director Bob Ghighi, today. Five club members were present. A three day class will be held at the Oglesby Dickensen House 9:00 am Until 10:30 am. The first two days are classroom, and the third day will be live flying at the RC Field. First day will be exploring air pressure, Second day flight simulation, Third day aircraft safety and hands-on flying a radio controlled airplane. The presentation will accommodate twenty students. If anyone would be interested in the presenting of programs or giving flying assistance, please advise Captain Krancic.

Captain Krancic Reviewed and read the Club by-laws which were brought up to date at this meeting. A motion to accept the changes made by Tony Pleskovitch and second by Randy Bond.
A motion to raise the Club dues to $50.00 next year was made and unanimously approved with a show of hands. The dues are due by March of each year.

Lowell Beenenga advised the initial cost to incorporate is $50.00 and every year there after is $25.00 his grant that he is donating to the club will cover the first three years. Lowell will need the non-for profit state registration papers signed by the officers and directors. A vote was taken and unanimously approved to incorporate DPRCF.
 
Captain Jake Krancic will also locate and provide the club prospectus and by-laws.
 
The IVRC August Float fly will need further discussion to combine club support. Lowell Beenenga and his son-in-law Brian will be liaison to determine what is needed.
 
Try-Club fun fly get together for 2019. A suggestion was made for a pot luck to be held on June 30, 2019, and have it at a different field each year .
New Business: Joy and Ed’s was liked by all who attended, and will continue as our club meeting location.
 
Captain Jake Krancic will initiate a roster for members to assist cutting the grass. Those who can help should provide their name and availability to him.
 
The club thanked Dave Duffey and Jim Clapp for their service as club officers for previous yeas and the excellent care of our field they provided for the past six or seven years. It is the shinning star of the state park.
 
Oglesby fun days and their participation to help promote our fly-in breakfast was discussed. Captain Krancic is going to ask Bob Ghighi, Oglesby Parks Recreation Director, to present the 2019 summer rec programs at a future DPRCF meeting.
 
The AMA has notified all members that the FAA has issued an Interim Final Rule today that will require drone pilots and model aircraft pilots to display their issued registration numbers on the outside of their aircraft. This will take affect February 25, 2019.
